INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY

PRODUCTION: STANDBY PRODUCTIONS

I think the client appreciated the work put in to get to the heart of their brief here. I wrote the script and wrote the proposal that laid out all the visual references and creative techniques. Rees Newnes shot it and Simon Owen directed. I did all the post; edit, AFX, grade, sound mix etc.

THE BIG REWILD PART 1

INNOCENT

PRODUCTION: JIST

This is where I'll write a short bio about the film and my roles in its production. In this case, I did the design and edit, as well as the online.

CHRISTMAS 2024 TVC

CLOGAU

PRODUCTION: STANDBY PRODUCTIONS

Clogau had been on Standby's client roster for a long time before I joined in February 2024. In that time they've built a little world where Gethin Jones has a wife and a family with more jewellery than Mr T. This was a nice offline/online/delivery job, working with Jamie Haigherty's great shots and Simon Owen's typical heartwarming direction that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

VALENTINE'S 2025 TVC

CLOGAU

PRODUCTION: STANDBY PRODUCTIONS

This is another ad produced at the same time as the Christmas campaign. This one chronicles how Gethin and his wife's engagement. Same role for me as the Christmas '24 ad. The challenge here was making the footage feel a little more 2010s. Not a particularly obvious aesthetic, but there's a subtle nod to those early days Instagram filters in the grade.

THE BIG REWILD PART 1

INNOCENT

PRODUCTION: JIST

The first of a three-part series of short social films for innocent and their Big Rewild campaign. They all feature Ray Mears playing a kind of Spinal Tap version of himself. I used to love watching his shows when I was younger, so directing him on this project was a bit surreal. He smells like almonds. The agency, Frank, were great on this and a shoutout to Marcus at innocent for the fun scripts.

THE BIG REWILD PART 2

INNOCENT

PRODUCTION: JIST

Part two. Ray learns the difference between a naturalist and a naturist. Look at that crouch down for the camera. Completely pointless. What a pro.

THE BIG REWILD PART 3

INNOCENT

PRODUCTION: JIST

The final part of the series. Ray has some unorthodox tips for how to make your home a haven for wildlife. Featuring some lovely costume department work on the nut vest by Raynor at Jist.

SPRING SUMMER 2025 TVC

HOTTER

PRODUCTION: STANDBY PRODUCTIONS

As well as all the post-production, I did most of the creative on this one too; from initial concept, through to writing the proposal, drafting scripts and creating animatics. This ad marked a return to TV for the brand, and it was great to work on. I love any project with a really solid brief and a clear target audience in mind. I obviously channeled the 50+ woman inside of me for this one. Simon Owen directed, Jamie Haigherty was DOP.

DO IT FOR LESS TVC

CASH CONVERTERS

PRODUCTION: STANDBY PRODUCTIONS

A quick turnaround project for Aussie pawnbroker legends Cash Converters. Besides everything post-production here, there was some concept ideation from me here too. In short, a guy clears out the contents of his shed to turn it into a gaming den, where he can ignore his poor family all summer long.

CUSTOMER WEEK US

SIMPLY BUSINESS

PRODUCTION: JIST

Simply Business came to us with the idea of sending their execs to work a day at one of the companies they insure. Sounds a bit like Undercover Boss, no? So that's the essence we tried to capture – taking a lot of influence from that really distinct Channel 4 daytime TV style. This was shot by a US-based crew, I edited it and wrote the guide script as I went along. Jon at Jist with the voiceover.

CUSTOMER WEEK UK

SIMPLY BUSINESS

PRODUCTION: JIST

Here's the UK version of the Customer Week project. This one features CEO Alan trying his hand at event catering with mixed results. The two films would also be combined to make a US/UK supercut at the same 5-minute runtime, which was quite a challenging rewrite, but a lot of fun putting the pieces of the puzzle back together. I also shot this one with Ross Henbest as producer-director.

CALI BY SNOOP

19 CRIMES

PRODUCTION: JIST

19 Crimes released a wine called Cali Red with rapper-turned-marketing ambassador for hire Snoop Dogg. The agency wanted to do some kind of grassroots sommelier rap battle in a car park... but we landed on up-and-coming UK rappers at a cypher in a warehouse (occasionally mentioning wine). After pulling together a hefty multicam sequence, I established a rough aesthetic for a freelancer to complete. This is an early cut, but Snoop dug the final product, according to his Insta. Sophia Carey's photos are the best thing about this project if you ask me.

THE VEGETARIAN BUTCHER

UNILEVER

PRODUCTION: JIST

Some contributor-led content for The Vegetarian Butcher range, shot in Unilever's test kitchen with Michelin-starred chef, Asimakis Chaniotis. I shot and edited this one, with the added bonus of Asimakis making the crew lunch.

SUSTAINABLE FARMING

WEETABIX

PRODUCTION: JIST

Weetabix commissioned Jist to produce a series of films to highlight their ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability. This is one of those four films, in which we meet some of the wheat farmers involved. Adam Barr scripted, I shot, edited and designed for James Kuwamura to animate.

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

WEETABIX

PRODUCTION: JIST

Here's another part of the sustainability series, where we go inside the factory to learn more about Weetabix's recyclable packaging. I designed for animation again, based on the campaign artwork supplied by Twelve.

FARESHARE PARTNERSHIP

PEAK

PRODUCTION: JIST

Peak is an artificial intelligence company with a bit of a social conscience. They partnered with the food redistribution charity FareShare to give them the full suite of their platform to maximise their output and create efficiencies throughout the organisation. I edited this one, piecing together several interviews to give some background to the relationship.

DIARIES OF THE DIAL:
RAINS

SEVEN DIALS

PRODUCTION: JIST

Seven Dials is a boutique shopping district in Covent Garden. They wanted to showcase some of their resident outlets in a series called Diaries of the Dial. This one is for Danish waterproof heroes Rains. Edited by me.

FRE CUSTOMS

IMPLUS

PRODUCTION: JIST

This is an old one, but I still quite like it. As early adopters of the influencer model, shoecare brand Implus asked us to meet up with Fre, who'd been turning heads by ripping up £5000 Louis Vuitton prints to make their Air Force 1 customs for people mad enough to buy them. I shot the VHS and edited.

THE KING OF TRAINERS

IMPLUS

PRODUCTION: JIST

Here's another part of the Implus series. We met up with Franklin Boateng – seen by many as one of the OG sneakerheads in the UK – as he walks the streets of Tottenham and shows us his insane collection. Like with Fre, the VHS and edit by me.

BUILT FOR LIFE

SALBOY

PRODUCTION: JIST

The culmination of a lot of work for one of Manchester's busiest property developers, Salboy. This brand film was compiled from several different shoots, showing the range of the company's construction projects. I edited, wrote the script and shot most of the aerial footage too.

THE PRESS

SALBOY

PRODUCTION: JIST

One of many promo films for a Salboy build, this one is for The Press – a redevelopment of a defunct co-op printing warehouse. Edit and text animation by me.
